Last night the nation watched as Little Mix won The X factor to runner up Marcus Collins. Both acts gave great performances. From singing with their mentors, to Christmas songs, Leona Lewis, Coldplay and The Winners song performed by both acts, it was a weekend full of entertainment.
When Misha B left, I found it hard to be excited about who would win the competition, but I do think Little Mix really showed off their talents, not only singing their best song from the series Don't Let Go, the Christmas classic Silent Night and their debut single Cannonball by Damian Rice. I rather like their version, with nice harmonies.
Here is the live clip of Cannonball from the X Factor final:
The X Factor finals lost nearly 14 millions views compared to last year when Matt Cardle won. 15.5 million people tuned in compared with 2010's 19.4 million.
It was a close win, with Little Mix receiving 48.3% of the votes, and Marcus getting 42.8% of the votes. Little Mix are the first band to win the X Factor and I think this is a good thing. If you want to read the whole article on drops in viewings click here
The girls were up bright and early appearing on Daybreak for an interview where they were very overwhelmed at winning. Jessie said, "People are calling us the X Factor winners and it doesn't feel like that's us."
See their Newsbeat interview which reveals their plans for their futures:
I wish them luck, but there is competition out there, so they are best sticking to pretty melodies and harmonies to keep a different sound to other girl bands such as The Saturdays and Girls Aloud.
